We met Rebecca in October of 2011. She came immediately to help us with a situation that my husband and I were unsure of. During this past year, I have developed more ethically, emotionally and spiritually conscious than I could have ever imagined. I have become a more learned, more open-minded and more balanced individual, as each moon cycled over the hidden gem in plain sight. Before you could understand it, you feel as if the fabric of your being is being pulled towards the door of the rustic cabin—a place known passionately by some as Kindred Spirits.
Kindred Spirits can only be described as a haven. The atmosphere, full of energy, instantly greets you as you walk through the door. This is a center which gives its visitors the opportunity to delve into a new world of metaphysical studies. Inside, you can learn a variety of tools and methods, taught by an experienced and professional staff, of all spiritualties. In short, Kindred offers the chance to
discover, re-discover or strengthen your spiritual path. With an ever-growing community of like-minded “seekers”, visitors are constantly being introduced to new topics of discussion, and are welcome to join in several locally hosted events; some including movie nights, paranormal investigations, pot-luck gatherings, and the must-attend, Mind Body Spirit Fairs. The origin behind all this positivity and self- discovery can undoubtedly trace its roots back to Rebecca Sommers.
Rebecca can only be described as the mother of Kindred Spirits. She is one of the most welcoming and sincere souls I’ve ever met. I can remember the timidity I felt during my first visit, approaching an unknown spiritual community in a new city. Would they be judgmental? What would be expected of me? Should I back my car out of the parking lot, conspicuously burn out and run for the hills? After a gust of courage, I strode in to be personally greeted by Rebecca herself. A smile and a warm hug later, my fears dissipated. It seemed almost eerie, as after only ten minutes of exploring and multiple introductions, I felt an uncanny connection to these people—this place—almost as if I’ve known it all for an eternity. And it’s not just my own personal experience, it’s a tested true fact that Rebecca goes completely out of her way, even during the largest and most hectic events, to greet everyone, both
familiar and new. She is neither invasive nor aggressive, and welcomes you to approach her with any questions or requests you may have.
As a teacher and mentor, Rebecca combines her unique spiritual background with a grounded ethical approach, allowing you to better understand the nature of “why” practitioners do what they do. She is an immensely gifted medium in a variety of formats (from tarot, to runes and clairvoyance) and is powerfully accurate. She has helped me recognize some of the most prominent “blocks” that were keeping me from living a spiritually and physically “whole” life.
Besides being an incredible instructor, she is also a focus-driven businesswoman. In the past two years, she has procured some of the most influential names in the spiritual community to host workshops at Kindred Spirits. Bi-yearly, Rebecca travels to Ireland and most recently to Scotland and England, where she offers her Kindred Spirits the chance to tour some of the most intimate, historical and metaphysical sites you’ve ever visited. Most of these locations are completely “off the beaten path” and uncommonly known by even most locals.
Never could I have ever dreamed to find a place that has imbued me with such spiritual confidence and a thirst for knowledge as Kindred Spirits. I am ever grateful to this amazing establishment, its community, its teachers and practitioners, and most importantly to Rebecca, for giving us all a home away from home.
